From April 15th to 26th, Niho Ora Ki Hauraki kicked off its next phase. This time, the crew stationed two of our mobile dental clinics in the picturesque town of Manaia, Coromandel.

Over nine working days, Te Tara O Te Whai and Dental Planet teamed up to provide crucial dental care to roughly 65 patients. Most of these patients had multiple urgent needs and hadn’t seen a dentist in years. Despite the challenges, the teams worked tirelessly, managing to complete oral rehab for 60 patients while referring others for specialised treatment and sedation.

The success of Niho Ora Ki Hauraki owes much to the dedication and teamwork of various groups and individuals. Te Tara O Te Whai, Hauraki PHO, Te Korowai Hauora O Hauraki, Pito Hauora, Te Whatu Ora Health NZ, MSD, the National and Regional Localities department of Health NZ, and Dental Planet all played vital roles in making this initiative a reality.

There were many moving parts leading up to the launch, and even more hands came together to deliver services to families in need. This collaborative effort proves that together, we can make a real difference in people’s lives, one smile at a time.

With the success of this venture, excitement is building for the next outing scheduled for July. It’s a testament to the commitment and passion of everyone involved that, despite the challenges, they remain devoted to making a positive impact in their community.

Whether it’s a routine check-up, seeking advice on maintaining optimal oral hygiene or providing oral health education to the young ones, the Dental Planet team welcomes all community members with open arms.

In addition to our mobile clinics, Dental Planet has clinics in Mangere, Manukau and Howick.
