COVID 19 protocols

Screening patients before appointments

To help keep everyone safe, we will be in touch to ask you a series of screening questions before your appointment.
Please consider the questions below:

  • Do you or any member of your household have COVID-19 or are you waiting for a COVID-19 PCR test result? (Not a routine surveillance test result)
  • Are you required to self-isolate (including arrival from overseas)?
  • Do you have ANY of the following symptoms now, or in the last 14 days?
    • Fever
    • Acute cough
    • Shortness of breath
    • Muscle aches
    • Loss of smell
    • Sore throat
    • Generally feeling unwell with no other likely diagnosis?
  • Do you have any other reason to think that you are at risk of having COVID-19?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, we would like to discuss your options with you.

We may also call you to confirm your answers to these questions again, just prior to your appointment, in case anything has changed for you. We do appreciate your support and understanding as we unite with you against COVID-19.

What extra precautions are we taking during COVID-19?

Special precautions are taken to ensure your safety at all alert levels.

Depending on your risk status (based on NZ Dental council guidelines) these may include additional personal protective equipment (PPE) and special cleaning procedures.

While we already had a high level of safety protocols before COVID-19, we have also added increased hand hygiene measures for patients and our team. Sterilisation of instruments after use occurs as usual, meeting the DCNZ’s Infection Prevention & Control Standards.
